FOR SCHOOLS

Dear school management,

We would like to invite you, pupils and teachers of your school to the newly opened Retro Museum in Prague.

A unique museum project, the Retro Museum Prague, the largest retro museum in the Czech Republic, was created in Prague, which mapped the design, trends and everyday life of the 1970s. A 80. years of the last century in Czechoslovakia.

It covers more than 2,000 square meters and is divided into 15 exhibits. You will find all icons 70. a 80. years - from siphons and nets, through yellow portable Tesla, céčka and Emgetonky to typical furniture from UP Rousínov or Hikoru Písek. This is complemented by a unique collection of tape recorders from the 80's.

In the main part of the museum there is a replica of a block of flats with the original kitchen, including all Tesla appliances and used items, a fully furnished living room, a bedroom and a children's room full of mončičáky.

From two special exhibits, students can learn how dissent or communist propaganda worked and see the unique lighter-shaped listening devices they used at the Yalta Hotel in Prague.

Other exhibitions offer demonstrations of period electrical engineering, an excursion into the best of clothing from Svit, Elite or Úbok, and a show of work coats, overalls or aprons. There is also a period administrative office waiting for visitors, which will act as if the secretary had just run out for lunch. And there will also be a famous woman behind the counter.

For school classes over 18 pupils, we offer a discounted ticket price of CZK 100 per person. Admission is free.

The museum is located on the 4th floor of the Kotva department store at Náměstí Republiky 656/8, Prague 1.
